NEW CASTLE – As another stretch of high temperatures and dangerous heat index values is expected across Delaware, the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services has opened cooling centers to provide residents with a safe place to escape the heat.
DHSS facilities are open as cooling centers Tuesday, June 30 through Thursday, July 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These spaces offer a safe, air-conditioned environment where anyone can cool down and stay hydrated.
The state’s cooling stations are:
New Castle County

Kent County

Sussex County
