SMYRNA - Colleen Doughten Norris passed away at home on Sunday, April 10, 2016 after a very long struggle with diabetes. She was born January 16, 1966 in Dover, the daughter of John W. Doughten, of Chadds Ford, Pa. and Louise Cole Hudson of Smyrna. She owned and operated her own day care. Colleen loved children, her dogs and cats and enjoyed scrapbooking. She was also very fond of visiting Rehoboth Beach and taking car rides with her daughter. Colleen was very appreciative of the care and support of the staff and patients of Fresenius Medical Care of Smyrna. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Kristen Norris, of Smyrna; her step-mother, Barbara Doughten; her step-father, Stephen Hudson; her step-brothers, Chris Hudson, his wife Jess and their son, Grayson, of Smyrna, and John Doughten, Jr., of Pompano Beach, Fla.; her step-son, Brandon Norris and his children, of Kenton; and her good friend and caregiver, Patsy Virdin. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE., 19801.
