Cole Faries, 65
LINCOLN - Cole Faries passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the afternoon of March 5, 2021.
Cole started his career with Faries Funeral Home as an apprentice under his father, "Chubby", at the age of 14. Cole continued his education through embalming college until he became a licensed funeral director. Cole, together with his cousin, Wells Faries, was the 6th Generation of Faries Funeral Home, a fact of which he was very proud. The funeral home passed from father to son since 1831 making it the oldest funeral home in Delaware still in operation today. Cole provided service for the Dover Air Base Mortuary for all major catastrophes from 1979. Cole served as the past President of the Delaware State Funeral Directors Association and the Past Governor of the Milford Moose Lodge.
You could always find Cole in his last years either fishing at one of the two ponds that were adjacent to his home or cooking and delivering meals with his friends from the Milford Moose Lodge.
Cole was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Robert.
Cole is survived by his daughter, Nicole, (Graig); and son, Joe, (Mollie); his sister, Kate, (Ron); and his sister-in-law, Denise; and a granddaughter, Grace; and soon-to-arrive grandson, Alexander; and a niece and great nieces.
His services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Faries Funeral Home in Smyrna with the viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and services at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery in Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Blood Bank of Delaware, Delaware Hospice, and the Milford Moose Lodge.
