DOVER - Clyde Carson Garthright (Carson) passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
He was born on July 16, 1962, to the late John Clyde and Adele Hardy Garthright in Norfolk, Virginia. He spent most of his childhood in Chesapeake, Virginia but eventually moved to Leipsic, Delaware.
Carson graduated from Dover High school and attended Vo-tech where he learned how to weld. He spent most of his career at First State Crane, where he learned to operate cranes. He loved his job and would say he was living his childhood dream of being a crane operator. Carson enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, grilling as well as cooking large Sunday meals for breakfast and dinner. People who knew him would say he was a hardworking, respectable, strong, loving, and a caring man. He would have taken the shirt off his back for anyone.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Roy and Betty McIntosh; brother, Lawrence McIntosh; and sister, Marian 'Rae' Wynne.
He is survived by, his son, Mason Clyde Garthright, of Dover; daughter, Alyssa Sarah McKinney (Patrick) of Dover; granddaughter, Juniper McKinney; sisters, Patricia McIntosh Shellburne of Chesapeake, Va., Suzette Burke, of Suffolk, Va., Joan Sipple (Wayne) of Leipsic, Del., Lorie Marshall, of Frederica, Del. and Betsy McIntosh, of Dover, Del.; former wife, Mary Garthright, of Clayton; and parent-in-laws, Robert and Carol Attix, of Clayton. He will be missed by many friends and extended family.
Services will be private.
