Clifton John Embert, 67 MARYDEL, MD - Clifton John Embert, died Friday, November 13, 2009, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 67. Clifton J. Embert was born December 4, 1941, in Sudlersville, Md., the son of the late Frank Embert and Lola Mae Alexander Embert. Mr. Embert started out working for Claude Everett where he milked cows, he then worked for Julian Leager driving the feed truck, and worked for Johnny George on the hog farm. After that he went to work for Alger Oil as a truck driver and retired after 35 years. He married Elva Jean Schelts on January 16, 1960. Mr. Embert was a lifelong member of Holden's Chapel Church in Sudlersville, Md. He enjoyed going to auctions, watching the Yankee's play, gardening, collecting toy tractors and hauling junk. He also liked to go to football and baseball games, watching his grandchildren, getting together for family gatherings and vacationing in Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Embert; and three sisters, Emma Elliott, Dorothy Casey, Catherine Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elva Jean Embert of Marydel, Md.; three sons, Clifton William Embert of Marydel, Md., Paul Mathew Embert Sr. and fiancé, Sherry of Dover, and Kenneth Dale Embert and wife, Betty Jo of Millington, Md.; three brothers, William L. Embert of Marydel, Md., Calvin Clifton Embert of Sudlersville, Md., and Daniel Earl Spencer of Sudlersville, Md.; 11 grandchildren, Christina Cook and fiancé, Jeremy Dehorty, Jamie Embert, Patty Embert, Matt Embert, Kyle Embert, Amber Embert, Chayce Steele, Cody Steele, Brittany Steele, Joey Embert, and Amanda Embert; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Holden's Chapel Church, 1011 Peters Corner Rd., Sudlersville, Md. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, Md. Interment will be in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, Md. Contributions may be sent to Holden's Chapel Church, c/o Kenneth D.
