CRISFIELD - Claudia Redmond Riley moved to her new home in Heaven on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury.
Born May 18, 1938 to the late John and Edith Redmond of Lexington, Ky., she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a grandchild, Shannon Gunderson.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Riley, Sr.; her son, The Rev. James Riley, Jr. and his wife Debra of Crisfield; three daughters, Patricia Riley of Hebron, Melinda Glover (Jack) of Salisbury, and Susan Twigg (Bryan) of Salisbury; seven grandchildren, Jaime Riley, James Riley, III, Bryan Twigg, Jr., Carl Twigg, Susan Nolan, John "Buddy" Glover, and Becky Glover; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
After Claudia made sure her children finished their education, she returned to college earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work. She went on to be the state-wide director for Psychotherapeutic Services of Delaware.
Claudia was a faithful and hard-working servant for her Lord, and most recently she was a member of Mariners United Methodist Church in Crisfield. In several churches where her husband was pastor, she organized children's choirs, served on church committees, taught Sunday School, organized church social events, and sang in every church choir.
Graveside services will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mariners UMC, c/o Grace Lankford, 27785 Farm Market Road, Marion Station, MD 21838.
