Claude L. Angell

SMYRNA - Calude L. Angell of Smyrna, passed away at home on Sat. June 11, 2011. He was 73. He was born in Milton, Pa., the son of the late, John Angell and Dorothy Angell Kennedy. He served seven years in the National Guard and moved to Delaware in 1958. Claude owned and operated the Paddock Bar & Package Store, Smyrna, for 20 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion Post 14, Smyrna, and the Smyrna-Clayton Moose Lodge for many years. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy O. Angell; two sons, Chip Angell and his fiancée Sarah Whiteman, of Elkton, Md, and John Angell, of Smyrna; a daughter, Dana Brown and her husband Frank Ford, of Wyoming; and four granddaughters, Emily Ford, and Clara, Gwen, and Claudia Angell. Services will be held 1 p.m. Thurs. June 16, 2011 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at noon. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Heartland Hospice Services, The Oxford Bldg., 256 Chapman Rd., Ste. 102, Newark, DE 19702. To send a condolence letter, visit www.delmarvaobits.com.
