Clarence Murphy, 90
DOVER - Clarence Murphy passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024 with family by his side. Mr. Murphy was born in Denton, MD to Mae Virginia and Henry Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Murphy, and survived by his daughters, Karen Murphy, of FL, and Candace Casto (David), of Dover. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Megan McNatt Barr (Josh), Lauren Casto, and Paige Casto.
Mr. Murphy enjoyed working in his early years on the Ellwanger and Spicher farms in Maryland. He went on to faithfully serve in the United States Navy for four years and loved sharing his memories and experiences with family and friends. After serving in the Armed Forces, Mr. Murphy worked as a supervisor at Johnson Controls for thirty years. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting the beach, reading, NASCAR racing, watching sports and history channels, collecting model cars, and completing puzzles.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Rebecca Gazze-McIlroy and his other physicians for their excellent care and all the caring angels from Shorecare of DE and VITAS Hospice staff. The graveside service and burial are private.
