Clarence Gray Stanley

DOVER - Clarence Gray Stanley, of Dover, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 85. Clarence was born Feb. 7, 1926, in Porter, Del., to the late Howard and Lillian (Webb) Stanley. He had been employed as a repair technician for Verizon for 33 years, before retiring in 1986. Clarence was a member of Faith Community Church, Dover. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Louis, Douglas, and Howard Stanley Jr. Clarence is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cecelia (Sharp) Stanley; his children, Sandra McDougall and her husband Ralph of Hartly, Andrew Stanley and his wife Susan of Middletown, and John Stanley of Dover; three sisters, Pearl Parson of Dover, Evelyn Bender of New Castle, and Agnes Bentley of Bear; a grandson, Ralph McDougall Jr.; and a great-grandson, Wyatt McDougall. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in the Faith Community Church, 2240 S. Dupont Hwy., Camden, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Faith Community Church. Letters of condolence can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
