Clarence Edward Darling

Darling, 88 SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Clarence Edward Darling went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2013 peacefully at his home. Mr. Darling was born August 10, 1924 in Sudlersville, Md. He was the son of the late Ernest H. and Ethel Casey darling. On Oct. 28, 1942, he married the love of his life, Margaret Spencer and they spent 69 years of marriage together before her death in 2010. Mr. Darling was a farmer who lived in the Barclay and Sudlersville area all of his life. He enjoyed baseball, football and Jeff Gordon. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Darling is predeceased by two brothers, Ernest H. Darling and John darling; and a sister, Sis Paniere. He is survived by two sons, Clarence R. Darling and his wife Mary of Wyoming, Del, and Alton E. Darling and his wife Jeanette of Chestertown, Md.; five grandchildren, Bobby Darling of Tampa Fla., Alton Darling Jr. of Barclay, Md., Martha Sparks of Easton, Md.. Christina Darling of Newark, Del., Laura Morris of Marydel, Del.; nine great-grandchildren; a devoted brother-in-law, Louis Spencer who made his home with him for many years; and his special caregiver, Jessie. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday March 21, 2013 in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, Md., where friends and family may call after 1 p.m. Interment will be held in the Sudlersville cemetery, Sudlersville, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to the Holden's Chapel Church, C/O Kenneth D. Embert Treasure, 1126 Dudley's corner Rd.
