DOVER - Christine M. Smolik, age 93, of Dover, gained her wings on September 20, 2015 at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover. Christine retired from Playtex Corporation after 38 years of devoted service. She enjoyed spending time traveling and sight-seeing with her daughter Christine. Mrs. Smolik loved decorating for the holidays, watching westerns, and crossword puzzles. Christine was a long time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover. She will be truly missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched. Christine was preceded in death by her son, Jerry J. Smolik. She is survived by her loving daughter, Christine R. Smolik, of Dover; and her adopted children, Vernon and Shanah Roberts, of Dover, Carla Mosley, of Atlanta, Ga., and Jerome L. Smith, of Dover. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director, Inc., 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on September 25, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
