Cheryl J. Hodgman, 60 FELTON - Cheryl J. Hodgman, 60, of Felton, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010. She was born in Milford to the late Harold Voshell and Charlotte Gingerich of Viola. She taught first grade at Lake Forest North Elementary School for over 33 years. Mrs. Hodgman was always there for her daughters, acting as both mother and father. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed spoiling them. She was an avid reader and liked flowers. Mrs. Hodgman was very independent, strong and always doing for others above herself. She was a fighter, never letting her illness get her down. She would always tell you she was a little better than she was yesterday. She was preceded in death by husband, M. Kevin Hodgman; and brother, Darrell Voshell. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Patrick Forey of Felton, Christy Dill and Wayhelin Hawkins of Newark, and Lisa Hodgman of Denton, Md.; brothers and sisters -in-law, Ronald and Bonnie Voshell of Felton, and H. Wayne and Jennifer Voshell of Dover; step-brothers, William Gingerich Jr. of Dover, Pa., and Bob Gingerich of Lowell, Mich.; step-sister, Mary Ellen Doden of Roscoe, Ill.; mother-in-law, Jean Cooper; grandkids, Aiden Forey, Jace Hawkins, Kyra Sims, and Jayden Watkins; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South Dupont Hwy., Harrington, where a visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
