She was born on July 3, 1922, in Wyoming, Del., daughter of the late Ralph and Louisa (Marvel) Virdin. Charlotte had worked as a registered nurse at Kent General Hospital for many years, retiring in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. David in 1989; and a son, Walter V. David in 1982. Charlotte is survived by four children, Louisa Phillips of Dover, Ann Prescott of Colorado Springs, Colo., John David of Wyoming and Mary Servon of Dover; ten grandchildren, Janel Prescott of Gray, Tenn., Chris Prescott of Knoxville, Tenn., Matt Prescott of Grafenwohr, Germany, Meghan Phillips of Milford, Molly Phillips of Dover, Eric Fritts of Jewitt, Texas, Jeremy Drago of Dover, Lucas David of Rapid City, S.D., Rachel Paolini of Dover, and Grace Servon of Dover; and five great-grandchildren. Service and burial are private. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Charlotte's memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963.
