Charles Paul Carlson

CAMDEN - Charles Paul Carlson, of Camden, died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at the age of 42. Charles was born July 15, 1968 in Chicago, Ill., to Charles E. Carlson and Jane Wysocki Carlson. He served in the United States Navy for four years as an Electricians Mate during Desert Storm. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, Enlisted Surface Warface Specialist, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation (Three), Navy "E" Ribbon, and Joint Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation. He worked for OPEX, a mail opening equipment company, as a field engineer for 15 years. He enjoyed drawing, especially pen and ink, movies, visiting with family and friends, and was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Charles is survived by his parents, Charles E. and Jane Carlson of Camden; grandparents, Paul and Jeanne Carlson of Milton; brother, Daniel Carlson and his wife Patricia; sister, Kathleen Fintak and her husband William all of Newark; nieces and nephews, Andrew and Elizabeth Carlson, Nicholas, Alexander and Kaitlyn Fintak; aunts and uncles, Carol and John Sieber of Lewes, Darlene and John Cordeaux of Bethany Beach, Barbara and Robert Faux of Oxford, Pa., and Thomas and Nancy Wysocki of Addison, Ill.; as well as many cousins. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Funeral services at noon followed by interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund (www.cfsrf.org), P.O. Box 3968, Gaithersburg, MD 20885-3968, Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org), Attention: GIFT PROCESSING, P.O.
