GEORGETOWN - Charles L. "Buddy" Truitt II of Georgetown died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 48.
Mr. Truitt was born Oct. 16, 1958, in Lewes, son of the late Charles L. and Mildred Elizabeth (Stubbs) Truitt.
He was a master carpenter for 21 years with Ronald M. Coffin Contractors, Millsboro.
Mr. Truitt was a devoted family man and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed building, fishing and gardening. He also loved NASCAR and was a diehard Jeff Gordon fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, whom he would have been married to for 28 years on Jan. 12, 2007, Ethel M. "Julie" (Lathbury) Truitt; a son, Charles L. "Chuck" Truitt III of Georgetown; three daughters, Tabitha Dawn Truitt, Carrie L. Truitt and Rachel Faye Griffith, all of Georgetown; a future daughter-in-law, Samantha Lewis; a stepbrother, Franklin Stubbs of Dagsboro; and six grandchildren, Zachary Lecates, Alexis Truitt, Noah Truitt, Kendra Toomey, Konnor Truitt and Lucas Truitt.
Services will be noon Saturday in the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in St. George's Cemetery Clarksville.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Truitt Family Memorial Fund, c/o Wilmington Trust Company, P.O. Box 666, Millsboro, DE 19966.
