Charles Joseph Dee Sr.

DOVER - Charles Joseph Dee Sr., 85, of Dover, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Westminister Nursing Center, Dover. He was born on Sept. 7, 1926, in Union City, N.J., to the late Harry and Emma Kastner Dee. Family was very important to Charles and he was a loving, giving husband, father, and grandfather. Charles and Clara just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Charles and his family came to Dover in 1964 and he worked as a machinist with General Foods/Kraft Foods and retired after 40 years. He served in the Army in WWII. Charles loved to travel and enjoyed many happy trips during his retirement years. Some of the favorite travel spots were Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Charles was very good with his hands and enjoyed working in his shop. He was a good neighbor and was very active lending a helping hand. The family would like to thank Cahlisha, Tara, Shawn, Charles, Nicole, Dee all of Season Hospice for their loving support. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Clara Dee of Dover; son, Charles J. Dee Jr. of Woodside; son, James Dee of Smyrna; son, Russell Dee Sr. of Florida; daughter, Virginia Bliem of Dover; seven grandchildren, Michael Dee, Ed Bliem, Kelly Bliem, Russell Dee, Jr., Debbie Judy, Diana Lewis, and Holly Dee; and five great-grandchildren. Remembrance Services will be 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Trader Funeral Home, Dover. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may also call Friday 5 to 7 p.m., at the Trader Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Season Hospice, 200 Continental Dr., Newark, DE 19713.
