Charles John Ascarino Jr., 47

DOVER - Charles John Ascarino Jr. of Dover died Monday, April 30, 2007, in his home, with his soul mate Carol at his side. He was 47.

He was born Jan. 1, 1960, in Kingston, N.Y.

Charles served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic for more than 20 years.

He was a loving, caring man. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working with his hands. He was a wonderful craftsman, making everything from a bamboo walking stick to a bamboo saxophone. He enjoyed food to no end and was magic in the kitchen.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles John Ascarino.

He is survived by his soul mate, Carol Ann Shockley of Dover; his wife, Barbara K. Ascarino of Taylors, S.C.; three children, Charles "CJ" Ascarino II of Dover, Amber Marie Ascarino of Dover and John Joseph Ascarino of Taylors; his mother, Yvette Ascarino; two sisters, Deborah Guido and Mellissa Sywestro; a brother, Steven Ascarino; a soon to be grandson, Jackson Ascarino; and many other people who loved and cared for him throughout his life.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934, to help with expenses.

Letters of condolences may be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
