Charles G. 'Buckie' Bartlett II, 68

CECILTON, Md. - Charles G. "Buckie" Bartlett II of Cecilton passed away at home surrounded by family and friends Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007. He was 68.

Charles was born in Dover, Del., and raised in Wilmington, Del.

In his early years, he was active in the Delaware Army National Guard.

He was employed by Labadie Mill Farms; Colonial Metals in Elkton as a maintenance engineer; Mumford Miller; and later retired as a truck driver.

He was known as a jack-of-all-trades. During his retirement, "Buckie" could be found in his garage, building various projects, bird houses and ornamental lawn decorations.

"Buck" had a fondness for the Chesapeake Bay area, where he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and the beach.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bonnie Berry Bartlett; his sisters Joann Ebert of Bear, Pam Patille and Marian Snow of North Carolina; his children, Marlene and Harold Bradley of Elkton, Kelli Bartlett of Middletown, Del., Charles "Chuck" Bartlett III of Earleville, Melanie McGuire of Cecilton and Wilson "Bill' Bartlett and Gayle of Clayton, Del.; five grandchildren, Jennifer Bradley, Holly Bradley, Jessica Phipps, Brittani Bartlett, Leo McGuire and Harold Bradley II; a great-grandchild, Shelby Zoe; many nieces and nephews; and two adoring and loving pets, Bumper and Muffin.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call one hour prior.

Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Earleville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Seasons Hospice, 133 N. Bridge St. Elkton, MD 21921.
