WORTON, Md. - Charles Edward Lively departed this life on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
He was born on May 1, 1925, in Philadelphia, to the late Charles M. and Francis H. Lively.
Mr. Lively was educated in the Kent County public school system and served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Afterward, he was employed by Local 199 at Shellady Construction Co. for 50 years until his retirement.
Mr. Lively was a member of the American Legion Post 0143 and was a dedicated member of St. George's United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Jean Jacobs Lively; and brothers, Vincent Lively and George Hynson; and a sister, Addie B. Lively.
Mr. Lively is survived by his stepchildren, Betty Cain, who was his caregiver, Gerald Cann and Richard Boyer; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Weldon and his wife Martha, Robert W. and his wife Gwen, and Anthony and his wife Linda Lively; brothers-in-law, Stanley and his wife Cathy and Harrison Jacobs; sisters, Frances Saunders, Emma Lively, Tannie L. Price, Lucy Lively; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in St. George's United Methodist Church, Worton, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will be in St. George's Church Cemetery, Worton.
