KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - Charles E. Nau of Kennedyville died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in University of Maryland Shock Trauma, Baltimore. He was 81.
Mr. Nau was born on Nov. 3, 1925, in Baltimore County, son of the late Elmer and Mary (Jackson) Nau.
He was raised in Jacksonville, later moved to Harford County, and for the last 43 years lived in Kennedyville. There he owned and operated Nau's dairy farm, and for the past 10 years raised beef cattle and farmed grain.
Mr. Nau was a past board member of the Southern States Co-op and Agway. He was also a past member of the Betterton-Still Pond Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret March.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth "Libby" Amrein Nau; five children, Charles Nau Jr. and his wife Maria, Linda Miller and her husband Gary, Kenneth Nau and his wife Kathy, and Deborah McGuire and her husband Timothy Sr., all of Kennedyville, and Bruce Nau of Bedford, Pa.; two sisters, Marian Penoyer and Helen Curry, both of Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be noon Saturday in Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Galena Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Kennedyville United Methodist Church or the Kennedyville Volunteer Fire Co., c/o the funeral home.
