HARTLY - Ceasie Harris Johnson, departed this life Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, in Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, with her loving husband by her side. She was born June 27, 1945 in Shell Town, Md. She met and married Isaac (Ike) Johnson Jr., and they had 39 wonderful years together. Ceasie attended Booker T. Washington and William Henry High School. She worked at Playtex and was part of the Home Care Nursing Program, and was loved by all her patients. Ceasie and her family were always dedicated members of Union Baptist Church under the leadership of the late J.H. Williams, and now the present Pastor Rev. R.G. Moore. She was a member of the Senior Choir, the Nurses Unit and participated in helping lift the name of Jesus at all times. She loved to shop and that was displayed on Sunday morning as she stepped in God's sanctuary. She represented all that was fierce, fine and fabulous as a woman of God. One of Ceasie's hobbies was camping, and she loved camping with her sister DD and brother-in-law Roy Sykes. She also loved having company and cooking those great down home meals. After the death of her biological father, her mother married a wonderful man, Mr. James Bryan and he raised her as his own. She is survived by her husband Isaac (Ike) Johnson of Hartly; her parents; Mr. and Mrs. James and Ardella Bryan of Dover; five children, Isaac S. Johnson, Reginald Isaac Johnson, Reginald D. Johnson, Dana Wayne Johnson and Eugene Garrett; three god-daughters, Veronica Morris, Reshinda Carter and Mary McClain; two god-sons, Jonathan Richardo and Camuel Whaley; and one grandchild. She also leaves four sisters, Romaina Mae, Consola Payne, Dolores Sykes and Barbara Bryan, all of Dover; four brothers, William Harris, Donnie Bryan, Danny Bryan, and Paul Bryan, all of Dover; two brothers-in-law, Roy Sykes and Renaldo Johnson; two aunts, Catherine Slade and Louise Robertson; three close school friends, Thelma Robinson, Jackie Benson, and Gerald Wright; and Ceasie always thought about her good friend, the late Celeste Watkins. A friend that understood the battle she was going through with her illness, was Minister Juanita Evans. And her three friends, she always called her sisters, Mary Mills, Janette Wilson, and Evangelist Chestina Handy. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Union family and friends. Services will be noon Friday at Union Baptist Church on Lincoln Street in Dover, where friends may view three hours prior. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
