Catherine Yvonne 'Kay' (Morris) Coleman, 68
ROCK HALL, Md. - Catherine Yvonne "Kay" (Morris) Coleman of Rock Hall died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 68.
She was born in Hartly, Del., on Aug. 19, 1939, daughter of the late Raymond Clinton and Nancy May (Clough) Morris.
Mrs. Coleman was a 1956 graduate of Smyrna High School and on Jan. 27, 1956, she married James Arthur Coleman Sr. They moved to Rock Hall in 1957.
Mrs. Coleman worked with Baltimore Business Forms/Reynolds and Reynolds for 30 years, retiring in 1994 from Reynolds and Reynolds and from Synergy Gas Co. in 2001.
Her husband predeceased her in 1998.
Mrs. Coleman raised foster children and participated in the Governor's Council on abused children.
She was a member of the Rock Hall United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Coleman enjoyed reading, puzzles, yard sales, crocheting and cross-stitch.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Dawn Thomas and her husband Tony and Corinda Daye Coleman, all of Rock Hall; five sons, James "Bub" Arthur Coleman Jr. of Rock Hall, Robert "Bob" Morris Coleman and his wife Tanya of Harrington, Del., William "Bill" Richard Coleman and his wife Vickie of Chestertown, Charles Clinton Coleman and Carey McLaughlin of Crumpton, and Stephen Scott Coleman and his wife Melissa of Cairo, Egypt; four sisters, Evelyn Anna Mae Hodges of Hartly, Nancy Lee Reynolds of Milford, Del., Linda Dale Levan of Dover, Del., and Joan Faye Borel of Alaska; one sister-in-law, Sandra Morris of Hartly; 14 grandchildren, Jason, Karly, Tyler and Joe Coleman, Jamie and John Elburn, Tamera Raimond, Charlie Hawkins, Matt and Jessica Capel, William, Robert, Alyssa, and Lindsey Coleman; her great-grandchildren, Colby, Jonah, Shane, Kaylee, Dakota, Kristen and Alicia; and foster children, Will Myers, Murray Steele, Ryan Twinning and Gary Pippin.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Rock Hall United Methodist Church, where relatives and friends may call two hours prior.
Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
