Catherine L. 'Kitty' Hopkins, 86
HARRINGTON - Catherine L. "Kitty" Hopkins of Harrington died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Hopkins was born Nov. 11, 1920 in Farmington, daughter of the late Oscar and Anna (Warren) Draper of Greenwood.
She was a 1938 graduate of Greenwood High School, where she played basketball. She worked as a floor supervisor at the Harrington Shirt Factory. She also was an employee of Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital for many years, working in the nursery and as an emergency room clerk.
She loved being with her family and extended family. She enjoyed being with people and always saw the good in every person.
Mrs. Hopkins is fondly remembered in the Harrington community as a longtime Brownie/Girl Scout leader and Sunday School teacher at Asbury United Methodist Church. She was recognized by the C.K.R.T. American Legion Post 7 as Harrington's Citizen of the Year for her commitment to the community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, C. Warren Draper.
She is survived by two daughters, Dawn L. Willis of Milford and Kathy L. DeLozier of Pamplin, Va.; two sisters, Ruth Ann Isaacs of Greenwood and Faye C. Martin of Marquette Heights, Ill.; a brother, Ralph O. Draper of Clermont, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be 1:30 pm Sunday at the McKnatt, Carpenter and Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington, where friends may call an hour and a half earlier.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, U.S. 14, Harrington.
