MARYDEL, Del. - Catherine (Rossi) Beck answered her Savior's call home on November 9, 2021. Catherine was born in Wilmington to Ralph and Mary Rossi. Catherine had four cherished siblings, Sal (deceased), Ralph, Lucille (deceased) and Arthur. Catherine graduated from Padua Academy as a member of the pioneer class of 1958.
One night in 1960, at a YMCA dance in Wilmington, Catherine met the love her life, Chuck, and the couple spent the next 58 years in love, raising four children, Charles (Necia), Mary Lisa, Christina (Vic) and Jennifer (Charles). Catherine devoted her life to her faith and her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marydel where she created countless bible school and religious education programs and brought the splendor and pageantry of the Via Crucis to life in the small country church for many years. Catherine will be remembered as an inspiring, generous, loving, and faithful woman who welcomed many into her home and life.
Catherine's family extended far beyond her children. She doted on her grandchildren Charles (Jes), Catherine (Troy), Kimberly, Josh, Mitch, Anthony, Necia Jr., Victoria, Cassandra and Brooke and her great-grandchildren, Lukas, Gabriella, Troy III, Julien Zenith, and Willow. She adored her large family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and all the friends that became family over her lifetime.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), in Dover. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday November 15, 2021, at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Marydel, Md. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery in Wilmington.
