Catharine Elizabeth Steigelman

LEWES - Catharine Elizabeth Steigelman, 87, of Lewes, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was born in New York, N.Y., on Oct. 26, 1923, daughter of the late Albert Hahn and Wilhemina Herdtfelder Hahn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Charles Steigelman in 2009; and a son, Henry Charles Steigelman. Mrs. Steigelman retired from the Winner Distributing Company in Baltimore, Md., where she had worked as a Payroll Clerk. She was an avid knitter, loved crossword puzzles and counted cross-stitch. She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Patricia Potts of Rehoboth Beach; a son, John Chapel Steigelman and his wife Dorothy Faye of Lewes; grandchildren, John, Bryant and Blare; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ian and Austin; a brother, John Hahn and his wife Elaine of Taneytown, Md.; step-grandchildren, Tara Rogers and Gene Mross; step-great- grandson, Colby Mross and his friend Chelsea Hilberg; sister-in-law, Emma Hahn of Kingsville, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for both Mr. and Mrs. Steigelman will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be private at Garden of Faith Memorial Gardens, Baltimore, Md. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 32409 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
