Carolyn L. Rose, 81
HARRINGTON - Carolyn L. Rose, of Harrington, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 81.
She was a Delaware native, and daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Dora Rebecca Coxe.
Mrs. Rose was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church, where she was part of the Methodist Women and the choir.
In her spare time, Mrs. Rose enjoyed cooking, making crafts and spending time with her grandchildren, and especially her beloved great-granddaughter, Malori Mosier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David C. Rose; and sisters, Doris Wagner and Margaret Hill.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John A. Rose of Harrington; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Tony Abbate of Milford; sister-in-law, Ann Waddell and her husband Jay; five grandchildren, Michael Abbate, Mark Abbate and his wife Meredith, Kristin and her husband Joe Mosier, Andrew Rose and Jeremy Rose; and a great-granddaughter, Malori Mosier.
Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Houston United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
James Richard Marks, 42
WYOMING - James Richard Marks, of Wyoming, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008. He was 42.
James was born April 14, 1966, in Rantoul, Ill.
He was employed with Regis Inventory and was also a dealer in coins.
James is survived by his parents, Retired U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Claude and Martha Marks of Wyoming; three brothers, Retired U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Charles Marks and his wife Robin of Milford, U.S. Air Force Col. Robert Marks and his wife Kim of North Carolina and Daniel Marks of Wyoming; his paternal grandmother, Opal Marks of Bradenton, Fla.; sister-in-law, Donna Marks of Bradenton,; three aunts, Beth Stroble and her husband Ron of Arkansas, Janie Lundquist and her husband Dave of New Jersey and Mary Hightower and her husband Kenneth of Arkansas; an uncle, Jim Fine and his wife Susan of Louisiana; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home to help with expenses.
