REHOBOTH BEACH - Carolyn E. (Fanny) Leister of Rehoboth Beach passed away Monday, April 9, 2007, one day before her 45th birthday, in her home.
Carolyn was born in Wilmington on April 10, 1962, to Charles R. Sr. and June E. Fanny. She was raised in Garfield Park before moving to Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.
She attended Hodgson Vo Tech.
Carolyn worked at Bowlerama Restaurant, A&P Food Markets, Pathmark and Michael Christopher. At the time of her death, she was employed at Vivian"s Style and Wachovia Bank in Rehoboth Beach.
She loved the beach and dancing, and especially enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn touched everyone"s heart who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary E. Marquess and Paul and Cathy North; her paternal grandparents, Harvey R. Sr. and Bessie Fanny; and her faithful, loving pet, Harley Davidson.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by four sisters, Mary Ann Snyder, Donna M. Emmons and her husband Steve, Barbara Dudkewitz and her husband Steve, and Rosemary Fanny; a brother, Charles Fanny Jr. and his wife Denise; her loving companion, Jeff Howett and his two sons Brett and Ryan; Jeff"s parents, Norman and Annabelle Howett; her maternal aunt and uncle, Nick and Carolyn Pettoruto; two paternal aunts, Shirley and Betty Fanny; numerous cousins; her nieces and nephews, Michele and Mark Tisher and their children Courtney and Justin, Eric Polite, Tracy and Chris Godwin and their children Hannah, Haley and Hayden, Christopher Morris, Chrissy and Patrick Kalix and their children Gabriel and Alyssa, Desiree Rivera, June and Joshua Ripoll and their children Devan and Isaiah, and Cathy Fanny; and her dog whom she adored, Bubby. She will be sadly missed by relatives, friends and coworkers.
A visitation will be 6 to 8 this evening in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702, and again on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a service in celebration of Carolyn"s life.
Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the funeral home to help with expenses.
