Carolyn DeBerry, 66 MAGNOLIA - Carolyn DeBerry, of Magnolia, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. She was 66. She was born Aug. 20, 1943, in Selma, Ala., to the late Lee and Cecile (Gaston) Jackson. In 2005 she and her husband moved to Delaware from Haledon, N.J. Mrs. DeBerry had worked as a Home Health Aide and Hospital Technician for 26 years until her disability. She enjoyed cooking, playing the guitar, roller skating and traveling. Mrs. DeBerry was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Dover and the Green Street Baptist Church in Selma, Ala. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Caleb DeBerry Jr. of Magnolia; two sons, Gregory DeBerry of Atlanta, Ga., Jeffrey DeBerry of Dover, N.J.; daughter, Bridgette Moonsammy of Roselle, N.J.; two sisters, Irma Jean and Linda Crystine Jackson, both of Selma, Ala.; and five grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be 8 p.m., Friday May 7, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, 1-800-622-9010. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
