FELTON, Del. - Caroll Francis Main passed away on December 3, 2021.
Born on July 14, 1951, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William Main and Thelma Poff Main. Caroll grew up on a farm in Union Bridge, Maryland, until he graduated High School and move to Florida. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1970 and during his four years of service flew many trips in and out Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, Caroll stayed in Delaware where he was employed by Playtex as a mechanic for 16 years. In 1982, while working at Playtex, he started his own business, Draper Mill Sharpening Service where he worked until 2020. He was a member of the Sandtown Nazarene Church and enjoyed restoring old cars.
Caroll is survived by his loving wife, Katherine; and four daughters, Jamie Wilson (Mark), Danielle Haley (Derek), Juliette Ervin (James), and Amber Vanover (Kyle); as well as ten grandchildren, Jake, Jack, Madison, Peyton, Emma, Hank, Wade, Eliana, Lyla, and Eli; sister, Beverly Metcalfe; and stepsisters, Audrey McDaniel (Bobby) and Patricia Blacksten (Raymond); and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral home located at 106 W. Sunset Avenue, Greensboro, Maryland followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date at the Veteran's Cemetery in Millsboro, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 183 South Street, Camden, Delaware 19934-1300 or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Delaware, 19963.
