Carole (Cataldi) Davenport, 71

LEWES - Carole (Cataldi) Davenport of Lewes, formerly of Camden, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was 71.

She was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Camden, daughter of the late Frank and Connie (Analore) Cataldi.

Carole was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, class of 1953. She worked as an administrator for the Delaware Potato Board.

Her many hobbies included needlepoint, the love of travel and home decorating. She loved to plan family events and had an interest in genealogy.

She was a member of the American Needlepoint Guild, the Delaware Council of Farm Organizations and a past delegate of the National Grange. She was an active volunteer with the Lewes Library, Girl Scouts of America and the Copula House Association of Edenton, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Cataldi.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Lyn Davenport; three daughters, Connie Dulin of Raleigh, N.C., Elizabeth Bozievich of Elmira, Ore., and Suzanne Hopkins of Wyoming; six grandchildren, Carol Ann Wilson of Lewes, Erica Leigh Dulin of Lewes, Jared Michael Dulin of Smyrna, Angela Lyn Pappas of Wyoming, Ashley Nichole Pappas of Wyoming and Mark Hopkins of Wyoming; three brothers, Joseph Cataldi of Camden, Paul Cataldi and his wife Barbara of Hartly, and Benjamin Cataldi of Felton; a sister-in-law, Ruth Cataldi of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; a niece, Carin Patterson of Elkton, Md.; and a nephew, Paul Brian Cataldi of Oxford, Pa.

Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947; St. Jude The Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958; or Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, DE 19904.
