Carol Ann (Barker) Connaway, 60

LEWES - Carol Ann (Barker) Connaway of Lewes died suddenly Sunday, March 4, 2007, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 60.

Carol Ann was born March 15, 1946, in Lewes, daughter of William Barker of Lewes and the late Edna Mae (Dickerson) Barker. She was proud to be a Lewes native.

She graduated from Lewes High School in 1964.

Carol Ann was a former member of the Lewes Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Service, and a current member of the Lewes Yacht Club. She enjoyed being around the water, and was an avid reader.

She worked for 17 years with Beebe Medical Center, retiring in 1998 as supervisor of communications.

Carol Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and thoroughly enjoyed life.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Dickson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Elberon T. "Tim" Connaway; two daughters, Wendy Wall and her husband Bart of Lewes and Terri Lynn Cooke and her husband Bob of Dover; three stepsons, Elberon Connaway III of Vermont, and Christopher B. Connaway and Shawn M. Connaway and his wife Cindy, all of Wrightsville Beach, N.C.; and six grandchildren, Judson Wall, Timothy Wall, Robert Cooke, Ty Connaway, Hannah Connaway and Jacob Connaway.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where the family will receive friends starting at 3.

Interment will be private.
