Carlton C. Moran

DOVER - Carlton C. (Dick) Moran, 77, passed away at Bay Health Medical Center on Dec. 30, 2010, surrounded by loving family members. Dick was an original Delawarean born in Wyoming Delaware to Alburn & Myrtle Moran. He attended Dover High School and immediately following high school he left to serve three years in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. After receiving an honorable discharge he returned to Delaware. During the ensuing years he was employed by Chesapeake Supply. Later he became an employee of Kraft Foods, and retired from the company after 30 years of service. Dick was a member of Union Lodge # 7 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, Past High Priest York Rite, Royal Arch Masons, Ever Green Forest # 49 Tall Cedars, Victory Chapter # 15 O.E.S. Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge #1503, and a member of People's United Church of Christ. He recently received the Award of Honor for outstanding service to Freemasonry from the Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Delaware for 2009. He was preceded in death by a loving son, William (Bill) K. Moran. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Tyndall Moran; a daughter, Linda Lee M. Weller and husband Mel; a son, Lee C. Moran wife Julie; granddaughter Jennifer; daughter in-law, Sharon J. Moran; his sister, Grace M. Outten; a brother in-law, Donald L. Tyndall; and special nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be held at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, Monday night Jan. 3rd, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Masonic Service at 7 p.m. and Jan. 4, 2011, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
