Carl V. Ramsey Sr.

MIDDLETOWN - Carl V. Ramsey Sr., 57, of Middletown,passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. Born on June 20, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Frances (Starcher) and Carl W. Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey worked for Raytheon in Wilmington for more than 15 years. He later started his own construction and painting business, as well as, was a commercial crabber. He was a true outdoorsman and loved boating. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and hosting barbecues. He was a hardworking individual and an excellent provider and many will always remember him as a very giving person. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Betty Ramsey. He leaves to cherish many warm memories, a son, Carl V. Ramsey Jr. and his wife, Trinette of Smyrna; a daughter, Christina Smith and her husband, Tony, of Dover; four granddaughters, Cara, Caitlyn and Candace Ramsey and Chelsea Smith; two dear friends who he thought of as sons, Brett Phillips and Otto Wessell; and his companion, Betty O'Neal. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may visit with his family from 5 to 6 p.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, Middletown.
