Mirasola, 73 HARTLY - Carl Jerome Mirasola of Hartly passed away, Monday, June 13, 2016 at Kent General Hospital. Carl was born Jan. 20, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, but raised in Union City, New Jersey to the late Carl Francis Mirasola and Isabela De Bari Mirasola. He had attended Ortory Preparatory School in Summit, N.J. and received his Associates Degree from Monmouth University. Carl worked at the family business for his father Syndicate Photo in N.Y.C. and then worked for Symonick Allied Van Lines as a salesman for 16 years. In 2003 Carl survived a serious stroke leaving him paralyzed, after which he and his wife relocated to Delaware to be near family. His favorite past time was his sailboat "About Time" and camping in Hope, N.J. He enjoyed spending time at the Silver Lake Fishing Club in Hartly with his friends, taking trips to the Delaware beach and playing with his grandchildren and his 4 dogs. Carl was known for his sense of humor, his gentle nature and being quite the prankster. He had such a positive outlook on life and was loved by everyone who met him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Carl John Mirasola. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years and caregiver of 13 years, Jinx Kastle Mirasola of Hartly; five daughters, Isabel Mirasola, Rene' Connolly (Jimmy), Marlo Smi (Brandon), Farrell Welch and Alexandria Welch (Matthew); eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, and one on the way; and many friends especially his best friend Willis Gingerich "Pic".
