FELTON - Carl A. Salo, 82, of Felton, died at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, on Saturday, Feb. 12. He was born in Massachusetts to parents Senia T. and Wirrat W. Salo. His parents were from Finland and came to the US in 1909, settling in Massachusetts. Carl served in the US Army and was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was an MP Instructor. He married Patty A. Danley in 1980. He worked at and retired from the Reichold Chemical Company in Cheswold. He was an active member of the Harrington Senior Center; a Lifetime member of the VFW in Greenwood; and the Harrington Moose Lodge #534; where he earned the highest honor of 'Pilgrim.' In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Aune Larson, Sadie Salo, Helvi Ryan, Julia Deterlizzi, Bertha Kosky, and Irene Briggs; and three brothers, Oscar, Victor, and Richard Salo. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patty Salo of Felton; three sons, Blane and wife Amy Danley, Wayne and wife Gail Danley, and Michael Danley; three daughters, Gail and her husband Chris Adams, Gloria Danley, Sharon and her husband Hans-HeidenRiclh; one sister, Shirley A. Martin and her husband Norman; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at the Harrington Moose Lodge #534 on Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the DE Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
