MILFORD - Carey Lynn Kellam, of Alexandria, Va., passed from this life at Capital Caring in Arlington, Va. at the age of 50 on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Carey had worked as an IT Service Desk Manager for CNA in Virginia for 26 years. He was a Warrant Officer 3 stationed in Fort Dix, New Jersey with the 75th Training Division. Carey also had previously been stationed at the 945th in Milford. He loved to help people and had a passion for cooking, preparing chef caliber dishes for his family and friends. Carey loved basketball, his favorite player was Michael Jordan and his favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his wife, Barb Kellam of Alexandria, Va.; mother, Patsy Kellam of Milford; grandmother, Dorothy Allen of Lewes; sister, Veronica Pettyjohn of Lincoln; brothers, Kevin (Diane) Pettyjohn of Harrington; Orlando Pettyjohn of Milford; a friend who was like his brother, Otho (Heather) Davis; father, Chauncey (Sandra ) Kellam of Lincoln; brother, Chauncey (Alena) Kellam, Jr. of Lincoln; sisters, Chaundra (Derrick) Matthews and Angela (Timothy) Williams of Laurel, Cheryl Kellam Nabors of North Carolina; nieces Keyanna Winder of Harrington, Terrica Hinton, Jasmin Hinton and Alyesa Hinton of Milford; nephews, Aaron Freeman of Alexandria, Va., and Shawn Hinton of Milford of whom he raised; uncles, John (Janice) Pettyjohn, Sr. of Milford, Curtis (Joyce) Dix of Parksley, Va., Willard (Geraldine) Allen, Jr. of Milton; aunts, Florence Stanley of Laurel and a special aunt, Estheleta Beckett of Millsboro; CNA family of Alexandria, Va.; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 300 North Street, Milford, DE. Burial followed in the Milford Community Center in Milford, DE. Arrangements by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, VA.
