Calporenia 'Nikki' James, 47

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - Calporenia "Nikki" James, of Midwest City, departed this life at Midwest Regional Hospital in Midwest City, on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008. She was 47.

Nikki was born Sept. 10, 1960, in Tennille, Ga., the daughter of the late Bessie Mae Wilson-Smith and Alfonza Cason and stepfather Benjamin F. Smith Jr. and stepmother Edith Cason.

She graduated from Dover High School in Dover, Del.

Nikki worked in the Mid-Del School district at East Side Elementary as a financial secretary.

She was a member of Victory Crusade and later joined Calvary Baptist, both of Dover.

During her travels she attended Yokota East Chapel, Yokota Air Force Base, Japan, Crossroads Christian Church in Dover, and Harvest Life in Midwest City.

Nikki was diligent worker, and a giving person who loved helping others in need and meeting new people.

She enjoyed outdoor activities, reading her Bible, attending church, watching TBN, gospel music, shopping, getting her nails done, and especially spending time and taking care of her family.

She enjoyed playing her Nintendo Wii and loved traveling.

Nikki always wanted to visit Las Vegas, which she did prior to her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Linnie M. Wilson and John H. Wilson; father-in-law, Herman James; step-grandfather, J.W. Jenkins; great-grandmother, Bessie M. Miller; uncles, David L. Wilson, Nathaniel Wilson, Jimmie L. Wilson; and uncle, Hubert Miller.

Nikki leaves to cherish fond memories, her loving husband of 24 years, Jeffrey L. James of Midwest City; one child, Jazmine O. James; a brother, James A. Wilson of Dover; sisters Angela C. Wilson, and Joyce M. Wilson, all of Dover, Joyce Beatty of Jacksonville, Fla., Denise Gamble of St. Mary's, Ga., Alfreda Taylor of Dublin, Ga., Trisha Robinson of Wrightsville, Ga.; four brothers-in-law, Glenn T. Wynn of Fontana, Calif., Vance James and his wife Vivian of Capitol Heights, Md., Patrick James and his wife Yvonne of Rocky Mount, N.C., Quentin James and his wife Karen of Wilson, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Peggy Faison and her husband James of Wilson, Donna Williams and her husband Ronnie of Fort Washington, Md., and Pamela James of Wilson; stepsisters, Malitha Sample, Alice Smith and Dollissa Phillips, all of Oeden, Md., and Barbara Cephas and her husband Scott of Smyrna, Del.; uncle Johnny Wilson and his wife Shirley; aunt Edie M. Wilson; mother-in-law Ruby L. James; great-aunt Bessie D. Pierce of Miami; nieces TaWanna D. Durham and Ericca L. Wilson; nephews James J. Durham and Jamar A. Muhammad Wilson, all of Dover; and a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church, Del. 8, Dover, where friends may view one hour prior.

Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
