Burton Stevens

DOVER - Burton Stevens of Dover passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Kent General Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Stevens was born May 11, 1934 in Bear, Delaware to the late Joseph and Mary Stevens. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Stevens worked as a HVAC Technician for 40+ years. He enjoyed spectator sports, trivia, politics and the company of his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Bernice Kula Stevens, 2010; daughter, Angela Hill, 2012. He is survived by six children, Carol Newell and her husband Walter of Hartly, James Hill, son in law, of Felton, David Stevens of Dover, Patrick Stevens and his fiancée Jean Fitch of Felton, Mark Stevens and his wife Jenny of Midlothian, Va., and Lois Spence and her fiancé John Christophel of Dover; sisters, Margaret Shelton and Rayleen Anuszewski; ten grandchildren, Christopher Newell, Amanda Dorsey, Ashley Murray, David Stevens, Holli Stevens, Isabella Stevens, Olivia Stevens, Samuel Stevens, Sophia Stevens and James Stevens; and five great grandchildren, Dominic Stevens, Nette Ortiz, Isaiah Murray, Sarah Stevens and Abby Stevens. Services will be private. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
