BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - Bruce Garrett Hunziker passed away at home, surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He was born in Milford, Del., on August 30, 1941, son of the late Ralph Hunziker and Hazel (Riley) Hunziker.
Mr. Hunziker grew up in Federalsburg, Md., where he attended school and graduated class of 1959. He was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1964, retiring with the rank of airman 1st class Loadmaster.
After his honorable discharge, Mr. Hunziker enjoyed a lifelong career working for the Dupont Company from 1964 until 2002, upon which he retired as an industrial mechanic. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Seaford, Del., Ducks Unlimited and the VFW in Federalsburg, Md. Mr. Hunziker was an avid outdoors person who loved hunting and fishing with his close friends every chance he got. Even close to his passing, he could often be found doing what he loved most. Mr. Hunziker even shot a deer this past November. He also loved traveling with his wife, Vicky.
In addition to his parents; Mr. Hunziker was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Victoria "Vicky" Hunziker (Baker); and many close friends. He is survived by his fiancé, Christine Carson of Bridgeville, Del.; his nephews, Martin Baker and fiancé Ellen Keone of Bridgeville, Del., Michael and Penelope Baker of Bridgeville, Del.; and many close family and friends.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, DE 19933, where friends may call beginning with 10 a.m. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are required by all persons attending or participating in any aspect of the services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, Del.
