MILLVILLE - Bruce Edward McCabe of Millville died suddenly Saturday, March 24, 2007, in Virginia. He was 48.
Mr. McCabe was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Lewes.
He was a 1976 graduate of Indian River High School and was employed with Delmarva Power and Light, where he worked as a lineman for the past 25 years.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends going to the beach, out on his boat, and going to Virginia Landing.
Mr. McCabe was a member of the Masonic, Moose and Elks lodges as well as the Delaware Mobile Surf Fisherman Association.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada McCabe in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Sue McCabe; his daughter, Helen McCabe; stepdaughters, Marsha White and her husband, Chris, Michele Murphy and her husband, Greg; his father, Calvin A. McCabe; a sister, Christine and her husband, Wayne; a nephew, Kenny Hickman and his wife, Janet; five grandchildren; and many close friends.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Bethany Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, West Avenue, Ocean View, where friends may call after 12:30 p.m.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Co., Bethany Beach, DE 19930; or Millville Volunteer Fire Co., Millville, DE 19967.
