HOUSTON - Bruce Alan Jones passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends at Kent General Hospital, Dover. Bruce was born in Milford, Del. the son of the late George and Edith (Benson) Jones. He worked as a machine operator starting his career at Plastic Materials in Milford working there for 14 years. He then went to work at the Pliant Corporation in Harrington for 21 years and was currently working at New Process Fibre in Greenwood. He was fondly referred to as the "Stat Man of Major League Baseball" and was the ultimate New York Yankee fan. Bruce coached in the Junior League of Milford Little League from 1995 until 2000 with the highlight being coaching a team to the 2000 District Championship and going to the State Finals. He also was passionate about deerhunting and spending time in the outdoors observing nature. As his last unselfish act, Bruce made the ultimate contribution to the Gift of Life. He is survived by two daughters, Angela Louise Jones, of Milford and Jennifer Lynne Jones, of Lewes; two granddaughters, Heaven and Savannah; three cousins, Bonnie Watford and her husband Pete, and Bob Sparklin, all of Milford and Ray Sparklin of Seaford; as well as his beloved friends, Jim and Clare Shaw and Caleb Shaw. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where friends may call from 12 to 1 pm. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln.
