Brent Howard Tanner, 50
DOVER - On Saturday, May 15, 2021, Brent Howard Tanner went to his heavenly home after a month of care at Kent General Hospital. He was 50.
Brent was born January 15, 1971 at Milford Memorial Hospital to Charles Edgar Tanner, Jr. and Cathel Donovan Tanner.
Brent was passionate about his love of God, music, playing bass, and his family and friends. Over the past 30 years, Brent played with so very many bands, locally and touring, making friends and creating bonds along the way. He enjoyed being able to travel and fell in love with many of the places he visited over the years. For the last few years, he lent his musical talents in service to his faith and his Deep Water Church family. Brent enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, laughing, telling stories, and making new memories. He could always be counted on to make the load lighter with laughter. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether that meant building a new bass, creating something for a family member or friend, or fixing things around the house.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Cathel Tanner of Magnolia; his wife, Kelly Johnson Tanner of Dover and her boys Raymond, Ronnie, and Ryan Ross; one sister, Denise Harper and her husband Ken of Milford and their children, Cody, Abigail and one grand-niece, Macey; one brother, Scott Tanner and his wife Valerie of Camden-Wyoming and nephews, John Tanner and his wife Rachel and their children, Joshua and Amelia of Middletown, Bill Tanner and his wife Cathy of Camden-Wyoming, and Jason Tanner and his wife Diana and their children Alana & Alise residing in Florida.
A celebration of Brent's life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 at Deep Water Church, 107 E. Broad Street, Wyoming. Friends may call from 11-1.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Deep Water Church.
Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
