Brenda Sue Janssen

SMYRNA - Brenda Sue (Spencer) Janssen, of Smyrna, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She succumbed to a short but courageous battle with brain cancer. She was 50. Mrs. Janssen was born March 19, 1960, in Blue Earth, Minn., the daughter of the late Gene C. Spencer and Marlene V. Schmidt of Smyrna. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles H. Janssen; three daughters, Deanna M. Custodi and her husband Gino of Harrington, Randell D. Horsey of Smyrna, and Carlee Sue Janssen of Smyrna; two sons, Donnie Dulin of Clayton, and Charles Janssen of Smyrna; her step-father, Milt Schmidt of Smyrna; four sisters, Carla McNatt and her husband George, Dawn Spencer, Darla Attix and her husband Gilbert, and Pamela Spencer and Roger Davis; a sister-in-law, Carol Janssen; three grandchildren, Derek, MaCayla, and Anthony; four nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces, and five great-nephews. Memorial services will be noon, Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Brenda Janssen Fund, c/o First National Bank of Wyoming, 28 Deak Drive, Smyrna, DE 19977.
