DOVER - Brady M. Abbott Jr., of Dover, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in his home. He was 68. Mr. Abbott was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Dover, to the late Brady M. Abbott Sr. and Mary Virginia Hickman Abbott. He was a residential electrician working for Paul Nichols & Company for many years. Prior to that he worked for O.B. Williams and Kent Sign Company. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Abbott was a member of the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2, 40 & 8th of Delaware and was a life member of the Camden VFW Post #3238. He was very well known for and loved being Abe Lincoln in the 4th of July Parade in Dover. Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by his two daughters, Tina, 1979, and Wendy, 1997; his brother, Elmer Abbott; and sister, Elsie Perrault. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Bolduc Abbott of Dover; daughter, Brenda Dill and her husband Dennis of Dover; two brothers, William Abbott of Felton, and Richard Abbott of Dover; his grandson, Steven Lentz Jr.; two granddaughters, Heather and Kerri Dill; four great-grandsons, Ian, Tabbin, Frank, Jr., and Landon; nieces and nephew, Tabitha Abbott and Crystal Krasulak, Theresa Nottingham, William Abbott, Jr., and Richard Abbott, Jr. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be 2 p.m., Monday, at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, RD5, 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Legion Walter L. Fox post #2, 835 S. Bay Road, Dover, DE 19901; or the VFW, Post #3238, 166 Old Camden Road, Camden, DE 19934. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
