Blanche Roach Morrison, 92
MILFORD - Blanche Roach Morrison of Milford passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in Westminster Village in Dover. She was 92.
Mrs. Morrison was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Harry B. and Hettie M. Clendaniel Roach.
She left Delaware in 1933, and moved to New Jersey and was employed by the state of New Jersey for 10 years.
Mrs. Morrison then moved to Michigan and worked for the state of Michigan for 10 years, retiring in 1978 and returning to Milford.
She married J. Mitchell Morrison on April 29, 1939, in Trenton, N.J., and he preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Morrison served as elder and was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Milford, a member of the Milford Senior Center, Harrington Senior Center, AARP-Milford Chapter and "Club 55" and Bowling League of Milford.
In addition to her parents and husband, Blanche is preceded in death by six brothers, Marshall, Robert, Rufus, William, Douglas and Richard; and four sisters, Mary, Ethel, Bessie and Della.
She is survived by a son, James A. Morrison of Milford; daughter, Joan M. Owen of Matthews, N.C.; son-in-law, John W. Owen of Matthews; sister, Mildred R. Steen; grandchildren, Pamela L. Morrison, John M. Owen, Jill O. Houston, Amanda S. Morrison, Geoffrey T. Morrison, Nicole M. Morrison, Steven Scholl; great-grandchildren, Erica L. Pletz, Rebecca E. Pletz, Meghan E. Pletz, Deborah Houston, Bethany Houston, Timothy Houston, John Michael Owen, Olivia Scholl and Declan Scholl.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery, Trenton, N.J.
