Blanche Marie Vonville, 85

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Blanche Marie Vonville of Sudlersville died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 85.

Mrs. Vonville was born Oct. 20, 1921, daughter of the late Theodore Carroll and Mary Jane Holden Carroll.

She worked in the hosiery plant in Chestertown for several years. She was the first female hired to work in production at Delmarva Sash and Door Co. in Barclay. After several years at Delmarva Sash and Door Co. she went to work for the Playtex Corp. in Dover, Del. for 10 years. After leaving Playtex she worked providing care in several homes as well as her own for seniors.

She loved gardening, cleaning and sewing.

Mrs. Vonville was a member of Marvin Memorial United Methodist Church in Barclay.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar Kimble, in 1944; her second husband, Earl Elmer Coleman, in 1965; her third husband, Charles Vonville, in 1994; and three sisters, Edna Morris, Ethel Myers and Alice Haggerty.

She is survived by five daughters, Betty Jane Starkey of Sudlersville, Charlotte Elizabeth Blunt of Greensboro, Carolyn Marie Pedicone of Chestertown, Sarah Lorraine Dove of Henderson and Virginia Lee Plugge of Sudlersville; a son, Edgar Theodore Kimble of Sudlersville; two sisters, Helen Russum of Chestertown and Virginia Hopkins of Frederica, Del.; 13 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Church Hill.
