TOWNSEND - Betty Z. Tinsley of Townsend, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was 74.
Mrs. Tinsley was a longtime member of Red Lion Evangelical Church in Bear. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, preparing meals and playing cards.
She was also an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues. In her spare time she loved to travel and work in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Eillenger and Sidney Day; and a son, Carl P. Tinsley in 1985.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Guy P. Tinsley; a daughter, Nancy Dawson and her husband, Dave of Townsend; two sons, Robert Tinsley and his wife, Ruth of Middletown, and Brian Tinsley and his fiancée, Tara Donofrio of Bear; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley Monast, Mary Brown, Ruby York, Geneva Roberts; and a brother, Jimmy Day, all of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. in the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St. in Middletown.
Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
