Betty Ruth Kenton

DOVER - Betty Ruth Kenton, of Dover, formerly of Millington, Md., died Dec. 14, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 82. Betty R. Kenton was born in Kennedyville, Md., the daughter of the late Elwood D. Starkey Sr., and Evelyn "Ringgold" Starkey. Mrs. Kenton graduated from Galena High school and then went on to receive and Associates Degree from Wesley College. She worked as a secretary for the Department of Natural Resources Game and Fish in Delaware and retired with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Old Kent Chapter and the Modern Maturity Center. She enjoyed playing the piano, painting, gardening and her animals. She is survived by two daughters, Pat Brice of Dover, and Debbie Robinson of Dover; one brother, Elwood Starkey Jr. of Massey, Md.; and one sister, Helen Tobler of Dover. A memorial service will be planned for the spring. Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, MD 21651.
