Betty Jean Miller

SMYRNA - Betty Jean Miller passed away at her home on Wed., Aug. 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Miller was born Feb. 11, 1932 in Boissevain, Va., the daughter of the late Mose and Lillian Lawson. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her family and friends. Betty was an excellent cook who enjoyed canning and making homemade jellies. She was a devoted member of the Pentecostals of Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Henry; her daughter, Sandy McGinnis of Smyrna; her son, James Miller and his wife, Verna Faye of Clayton; 4 grandchildren, Shannon J., Shawn H., Jaime, and Dustin; 12 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and siblings, Lillian and Herbert. Graveside services will be held on Mon., Aug. 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens, located in Bluefield, Va.
