Betty Jean Hunt

EASTON - Betty Jean Hunt, of Easton, died on Monday, July 25, 2011, at Heartfields of Easton. She was 79. Born on March 27, 1932, in Neavitt, Md., she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Helen Mae Haddaway. Betty was a graduate of St. Michaels High School. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed camping, spending time with her family, crabbing and cooking. Betty retired after 27 years from the Maryland National Bank in Oxford as the branch manager. She is survived by her sons, William T. "Tim" Hunt, and his wife, Kelly Lynn, and Randall A. Hunt, and his wife, Jean; and her granddaughters, Taylor and Christin; a brother, Herman Haddaway, and his wife Barbara; a special nephew, Bud Haddaway, and his wife Judy; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Cooper Hunt, whom passed in June 2010; five brothers, Francis Haddaway, James Franklin Haddaway, Jr., Robert Haddaway, Reginald Haddaway, Edgar Haddaway, Sr.; and a sister Shirley Haddaway. A funeral service will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will follow at Oxford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Talbot County Humane Society, 7894 Ocean Gateway, P.O. Box 1143, Easton, MD 21601.
